Working Hard at Hardly Working

Arrrooooo everyone!

Well, yesterday was something called "Take your pet to work day." Now, I don't really know what that means but all I knows is that I got to spend the day with momma. I think that work thing is what keeps mom and dad away from me all day. If so, then I DON'T LIKE IT!

So anywho, momma got up this morning made me take a bath (Uggggghhh!) so I knew something wasn't right but that's ok cause I didn't make it easy on her at all. I think I heard her say something about having her workout for the day and was now a Basset Wrangler, whatever that means. After the bath she started squirtin this smell good stuff on me and brushed my teeth (I really like my teef brushed, it tastes yummy!) so yeah I knew right then that I was getting to go with them. Woooohooooo! Gosh! I thought it was going to take them foevah to get in the Jeep!

They fiiiinally got in the jeep and off we went. I didn't know where we were going til we got there. I've been there bfore!

 
This is where my buddy Elise is! I like her she always gives me hugs and belly scritches. Oh and one time she let me lick the yogurt bowl clean. :) Yeah she's pretty cool!


So mom was busy with that stuff she calls work but it looks like she's just looking at a TV with a bunch of words and stuff on it. I don't know, I was busy with my own job.

Somebody had to get the yam out of the middle of the rawhide and attack the Wubba. It's a tough job but someone had to do it.

Man! Who knew work could be so tiring?


After all that hard work was done we got to leave and I got to go spend a few hours with Susan, one of my GodMoms, while momma went and ate lunch. I don't even care that I missed out on food cause I had 2 hours of uninterrupted toe licking! Mom always wears socks on her feet so I can't lick her toes but Susan had naked feet and she let me lick 'em all I wanted. Yep, She's cool too!

After we left there I got to go to the pet store and browse around. It was kind of boring though cause there wasn't very many people there to give pets and rubs. Ma said we will go back on a weekend when there are more people. After we left there we picked dad up from work and headed home. I decided I was a pooped pup and let dad drive so I could crash in the back seat.

We got home and momma gave me a rawhide cause I was such a good boy all day and then I took a nap on the couch for about 4 hours.



Momma said I may get to go back to work again one day but I hope I don't have to do so much work!

It's All About Me!

Yep, that's right, IT'S ALL ABOUT ME, baby! I mean really, the title says it all... Bernie's Blog.

Oh, I guess I need to introduce myself. My name is Bernard von Woofenhound but everyone calls me Bernie. I don't know what momma was thinking giving me such a big name. By the time you spit that name out I've already done a snatch and grab and am long gone. I mean really,  I may have short, stubby legs but I can move 'em pretty dang fast.

So, anywhoo, I'm Bernie and I'm a 7 month old Basset Hound and believe you me, I am ALLL Basset, baby! I can drool bucket loads at just the sight of food. Especially sour stuff. I love me some sweettart jelly beans. Mom says I snore but I've never heard myself so I can't say if that's true or not.

I like to cruise the counters looking for something to get into and mom says I have something called "selective hearing" but I don't know what she's talking about. She also says I smell like corn chips and that it's kind of gross but comforting at the same time. 

I like chewing on sticks and eating pinecones. And I looooove sneaking cones into the house and making a mess. Momma's voice gets real loud and jumps around all over the place. It's real entertaining until she takes my cones away from me. 

I practice "The Look" on a daily basis but it doesn't always work. I guess I need to practice it more.

Well, that's just a little bit about me. Just enough to whet the appetite and make you want more. I mean really, I can't just put all out there at one time now can I?
